About Juliette
Having studied Fine Art, I have always been passionate about the creative process and the way art allows us to observe, explore, and connect with the world around us. Much of my inspiration comes from nature, everyday moments, and my children, who continually encourage me to see creativity with curiosity and openness. I find great joy in visiting galleries and exhibitions, discovering new artists, and sharing artistic experiences with my family.
Alongside my teaching career, I continue to create and play and I believe maintaining my own creative practice helps me stay inspired, reflective, and connected to the experience of being an artist myself.
Although my main specialism is Fine Art, I also have extensive teaching experience across a range of disciplines including photography, textiles, and sculpture. This broad creative background allows me to support students in exploring different materials, techniques, and forms of expression while developing confidence in their own artistic voice.

With 13 years of experience teaching Art in both state and private secondary schools, I offer supportive and personalised GCSE Art tuition for students of all abilities. As a fully qualified Art teacher based in Somerset, I specialise in helping students build confidence, develop creativity, and achieve their full potential in both coursework and exam preparation.
My teaching approach is calm, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s individual needs and learning style. I focus on developing strong observational drawing skills, creative thinking, artist research, annotation, sketchbook presentation, and final piece development. I believe students achieve their best when they are encouraged to discover the styles and materials that suit their individual strengths and creativity. Lessons are structured to support students step-by-step while also encouraging independence and personal expression.
The length of the lesson can vary depending on need and may include practical demonstrations, guided tasks, portfolio feedback, exam preparation, and support with GCSE coursework projects. I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and experimenting creatively.
I hold a recognised teaching qualification and have extensive experience teaching GCSE Art within secondary education. I have been the lead teacher for GCSE in my current school for 8 years and was also previously Head of Department for 2 years. My lessons are ideal for KS3 and GCSE students, including those preparing for exams, building portfolios, improving technical skills, or boosting confidence in Art and Design.
I am also an experienced AQA moderator, which gives me a thorough understanding of the GCSE Art assessment criteria and marking process. This experience allows me to provide students with clear, accurate guidance on how to improve their coursework, sketchbooks, and final pieces to meet examination objectives successfully.
