About Nikola

I have over five years of experience helping GCSE and A-level maths students improve their confidence and performance.

I focus on helping students truly understand topics rather than just memorise methods and I teach exam strategy, which is often overlooked.

Parents and students value my bespoke spreadsheet that covers all topics, includes targeted practice questions, and tracks progress clearly. It takes the guesswork out of revision. You can see what’s secure, what’s shaky, and what will improve marks fastest, so you always know what to revise next and whether you’re doing enough.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed around a simple, systematic plan, because most students do not struggle due to lack of effort. They struggle because revision is unfocused, confidence takes a hit, and small gaps or habits quietly leak marks. I use a tracking spreadsheet to break the course into topics, link targeted practice questions, and track progress clearly, so we always know what to work on next and why.

In lessons, we build confidence by breaking topics into clear steps and using mistakes as feedback rather than failure. We also uncover and fix knowledge gaps early, whether they came from changing teachers, moving sets, switching schools, or missing key lessons, so later topics stop feeling impossible. If a student knows the method but loses marks to small slips, we focus on routines that reduce careless mistakes, including systematic checking and spotting personal error patterns. For wordy questions, we practise turning language into maths, so students learn how to extract what matters and set the problem up correctly. And for students who run out of time, we train pacing and question selection using exam style practice, so they can work efficiently under pressure and finish more of the paper.

Deadly! Nik is a wonderful maths tutor. My son had one in-person lesson with him and then we moved to online lessons. My son found the Google classroom works really well and we are going to continue with this arrangement next year. I would not hesitate to recommend Nik. All lessons have been wonderful and my son’s maths grade has improved even after a few lessons.
