About Caitlin
Due to policy changes at the University I work at, I can only teach for one semester a year. So, to keep my teaching skills sharp, some casual tutoring should benefit both you and me. That being said, I do love teaching and I truly believe that with practice and patience anyone can learn anything. I didn't initially do physics in high school (I did 14 units and ran out of space for classes) but here I am today with a Bachelor of Science in Physics with distinction, a college medal for academic excellent, a university medal, and in talks with the University of New South Wales for a PhD. So, put in the time and you can do just about anything. I am here to help you spend that time productively.

I prefer teaching math and physics using problems for students to work through with guidance so they understand the steps that go into figuring out a problem. I prefer to guide students through how to solve problems in general rather than how to solve specific problems they may be expected to solve in an exam, although these are used as examples for them to work through so they get that practice too. I am also happy to simply help students with their homework and talk it through with them, whether that be in math and physics or history. I have offered private unpaid tutoring in scientific writing and research assistance for my science classmates when completing my degrees. This also includes general help in organizing their time when studying. I am also employed at the University of Newcastle as a casual academic and have run Medical Radiation labs showing first years basic physics concepts. I am happy to teach first-year university students, HSC students, and high school students in general.
