About Rudy

Passionate about maths and teaching, I have been giving private lessons for 6 years now in parallel with my studies and professional activities. I am very familiar with the school programs and follow students from the college to the BAC + 2 as well as for exam preparations such as TAGE MAGE, GRE, GMAT, brevet and baccalaureate. Education is for me a source of fulfillment. To transmit a knowledge, to see its students progress and to follow them during their schooling is a real challenge but also a real satisfaction. Beyond the technical aspect, I make sure to create a pleasant working atmosphere to foster the confidence of the student, necessary for its success. Pedagogue, attentive and dynamic, I provide course materials and personalized exercises and performs regular checkups with the student and parents to make a point on the progress.

My method: Having followed several students with different profiles, I could see that the bad results in mathematics often come from a lack of method (rigor, read a statement, write a mathematical reasoning ...), a lack of understanding of the course and lack of practice. As a teacher, I consider that my role is not only to teach the subject, but to give you the necessary tools that will allow you to progress sustainably and achieve your academic and personal goals. First session (1st hour offered): The first meeting aims to get to know the student and determine his current level in mathematics, its strengths and weaknesses, as well as the objectives to be achieved (catching up with a student in difficulty or deepen and achieve excellence with a student wishing to obtain a mention). After this first step, I establish with the pupil and his parents a pedagogical report (notions to be reviewed in priority, working method, duration and frequency of the courses) aimed at answering the student's objectives as well as possible. Course Flow: Classes are usually structured in 5 steps: 1. At the beginning of the session, I answer any questions that the student may have about the previous class or what he is currently seeing in class. We then resume the work (homework, exercises) asked by his teacher and the exercises that I can give him to do from one session to another. 2. From there, we review the points of the course and the mathematical methodology: to understand an utterance, to organize oneself in the reflection, to solve a mathematical problem and how to write one's solution. If the student has control, I analyze with him his old homework on the table to analyze his mistakes and do better during the next control. 3. We then do several exercises so that it can put into practice the concepts seen in class and appropriate the working methods seen together. 4. At the end of the course, a summary item including: The mathematical concepts to know and some typical examples of the course The main points of difficulty encountered Advice and strategies to overcome these difficulties 5. I give some exercises to do between two sessions in order to allow the student to review alone the notions seen together and to assimilate his course durably. In case of difficulties, the student can at any time send me an email or call me so that I can help him from one session to another.
