About Guy

A citizen of the world, I earned a master’s degree in Engineering from Ecole Catholique d’Arts et Métiers (ECAM) in Lyon, France, and an MBA from the University of Michigan (Ross School of Business) with High Distinction. I volunteered to teach Mathematics and English to High School students in Thailand for 1 year. In my profession as an Engineer, I earned the 2013 Knowledge In Action Award for Middle East and Asia. I achieved top 10% performance in multiple logic and language standardized tests including GMAT, IELTS, TOEFL, and others. I have the knowledge to excel and I know how to share it.

About the lesson

- My teaching methodology is to focus on the goals to achieve and every activity we work contributes to reach faster to the agreed upon goals. "Learn by doing" is my motto - A typical lesson plan for an IELTS test would look as follows: TITLE: How to absorb a 500-word text under 1 minute STRATEGY: Skimming and scanning IMPLEMENTING THE STRATEGY: Guessing the title of a passage HANDS-ON: Assign the correct heading to a paragraph TAKEAWAYS: Identifying our strengths and weaknesses and refining the strategy - What sets me apart as a tutor is that I have a passion for knowledge sharing. I have received multiple awards and accolades for outstanding performance sharing knowledge and I find myself successful only when you succeed - IELTS lessons are for University level students that are not English native speakers or people of any age or qualifications that want to move to Canada, England, or Australia. GMAT lessons are for young professionals with a Bachelor or a Master in any discipline.

Travis is a quick learner which makes it a lot easier to cover a lot of materials and practice more than usual. Travis is also relatively new to some Math-related subject which requires more creativity in how a lesson is given. Overall he is a great listener and is very enjoyable to work with.
