About Devon
I graduated from Mason Gross School of the arts (the art school of Rutgers university) with full honors. My concentration while in school was in painting, but I took classes in a variety of mediums including graphic illustration, animation, photography, and printmaking. I have worked as an art teacher for the art elective program at Liberty Lake Day Camp, where I taught classes in painting, drawing, sculpture, multimedia, and “world cultures” art to children ages 4 to 14. I’ve also been previously employed as a full time nanny for children between the ages of 1 to 9.

I have experience working as both a one on one art instructor, and teaching lessons of up to 20 students in a summer camp setting. I can teach a variety of mediums including painting, pencil and colored pencil, pastels, sculpture, and beadwork. I’m able to teach children as young as four years old, and I can modify my lessons to fit any skill level. I think learning a visual art form is important to a child’s developmental skills and understanding of the world, but it should also be a joyful and fun learning experience!

Devon is an excellent artist who tunes into the details of the natural world and local mythologies and storytelling to bring her art to life. This being said, the same philosophy carries over into her work with children, guiding them to create, share, and experience the world around them in a more vivid way. Devon has been an art instructor and a nanny for years, making her extremely qualified to work with students of any age.
