About Adam

I am a professional artist specializing in oil painting, with a focus on hyperrealism and expressive portrait work. My paintings often explore strength, beauty, and character, frequently featuring tattooed subjects and powerful imagery. I work primarily in oil and charcoal, combining traditional techniques with a bold, modern aesthetic.

In addition to my work as a painter, I have spent decades working in creative fields, which has shaped my disciplined, detail-oriented approach to art. I am passionate about helping others develop their skills, whether they are just starting out or looking to refine their technique. My goal as a tutor is to create a supportive, focused environment where students can grow with confidence and develop their own unique artistic voice.

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on strong foundational skills in oil painting while encouraging each student to develop their own style and artistic voice. I emphasize observation, composition, value, and color theory, using step-by-step demonstrations and guided practice. A typical lesson includes live painting, individualized feedback, and practical exercises tailored to the student’s level. I work with beginners through advanced painters, including those interested in realism and expressive work. What sets me apart is my focus on patience, craftsmanship, and helping students truly see and translate what’s in front of them onto the canvas.
