About Robert

I am passionate about teaching and doing mathematics. Through my position as a math tutor, I have extensive experience in teaching mathematics to grade 8- 12 over the last 2 years. I have also learned to approach every student uniquely so as to give the best help.
During my time as a private tutor, I conducted the sessions both remotely and in-person. This allowed me to learn the use of different technological tools to aid my tutoring especially when running remote sessions. Some of these tools are aimed to keep the students engaged and to make learning fun. Making learning mathematics appealing and enjoyable is important because it can be quite strenuous to some students.

About the lesson

Building a Strong Foundation: Math is like building blocks; each concept serves as a foundation for more complex ideas. If students understand the connections between concepts, they can build a stronger foundation by seeing how each concept fits into the larger framework of mathematics.

Retention and Recall: Recognizing connections between concepts aids in retention and recall. When students understand how one concept relates to another, it becomes easier for them to remember and apply both concepts in various contexts.

Problem-Solving Skills: Math is not just about memorizing formulas and algorithms; it's about solving problems creatively. Recognizing connections between concepts allows students to approach problems from different angles and apply a variety of strategies.
