About Karan
As a dedicated member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society (Math Competition), I bring an exceptional, proven track record in mathematical problem-solving. I have successfully placed in multiple state and national level mathematics competitions, including 8th place statewide in FAMAT and 25th place at the FAMAT National Convention in Alpha Sequences and Series.
My academic record is paired with hands-on experience guiding other learners. Having served as the Assistant Head Counselor at the American Heritage Robotics Camp, I am fully equipped to mentor students, build their confidence, and explain technical and complex topics clearly. My main coaching philosophy relies heavily on patience and precision to ensure that students walk away with confidence and understanding in a topic that was previously a struggle.

My teaching approach focuses on breaking down complex mathematical concepts into clear, logical steps to build test-taking confidence. I use active problem-solving techniques, graphing tools like Desmos, and real practice exam questions from official CollegeBoard material and other textbooks tailored to each student's goals.
A 60-minute lesson follows a structured format:
Concept Review (10 mins): Reviewing tricky formulas or homework issues.
Main Topic Breakdown (15 mins): Lesson for AP or SAT style question topics and patterns.
Guided Practice (20 mins): Working through problems together with instant feedback.
Problem Solving (10 mins): Student spends time working on problems themselves with minimal assistance to create confidence.
Final Review (5 mins): Review the finished work for the last few minutes of class including any questions they may have.
