About Sommer
Hi! My name is Sommer, and I’m a patient and encouraging math tutor who enjoys helping students understand concepts that may seem difficult at first. I believe math becomes much easier when students can learn at their own pace and have problems explained in a way that makes sense to them. I aim to create a comfortable environment where students can ask questions, practice their skills, and build confidence in their abilities. I’m happy to help with homework, studying, test preparation, and strengthening overall math skills.

My tutoring approach focuses on breaking math problems into simple, manageable steps and making sure students understand the reasoning behind each answer. Lessons typically begin with a quick review of previous material, followed by an explanation of the new concept, guided practice, and independent problems. I adjust each lesson to the student’s grade level, learning style, and specific areas of difficulty. My goal is not just to help students get the right answer, but to help them develop problem-solving skills and confidence that they can use independently.
