About Kandia
Hi, I’m Kandia! I’ve always loved helping others learn, especially when it comes to math. I know how stressful school can feel sometimes, so I focus on making lessons comfortable, encouraging, and easy to follow. I like to break things down step by step and create a space where asking questions feels natural. Outside of academics, I’m a big believer in patience, teamwork, and finding creative ways to solve problems. I enjoy connecting with people and making learning feel a little less like a chore and a little more like discovery. Teaching Method and Techniques
I focus on clear, step-by-step explanations, real-world applications, and active problem solving. I adapt to each student’s learning style, whether visual, hands-on, or discussion-based.
Typical Lesson Plan
Each lesson begins with a quick review, followed by a structured introduction of new material. I walk through examples, guide students in practice, and close with a recap and targeted next steps.
What Sets Me Apart
I graduated with an Advanced Regents Diploma in Mathematics, earned a 4 on both AP Calculus AB and BC exams, served as president of my high school’s math team, and am currently in the Honors Program at my college. This combination of academic achievement and leadership allows me to explain concepts clearly, connect with students, and build their confidence.
Who the Lessons Are For
My lessons are primarily tailored for high school and early college students—especially those in algebra, geometry, calculus, or competitive math programs—but I am also able to adjust my approach for younger learners who need extra support.
