About Shiv
Hi! I'm Shiv Kumar Modi, a Software Development Engineer at Amazon and an M.Tech graduate in Computer Science and Information Security from IIIT Hyderabad.
I have professional software engineering experience across Amazon, Human Powered Health Technologies, and Cognizant, where I have worked with Java, Python, backend development, and real-world software systems.
I secured 98.2 percentile in GATE CSE and have solved 450+ Data Structures and Algorithms problems on LeetCode. My own journey through competitive exams, coding interviews, and software engineering has given me a practical understanding of the challenges students face while preparing for placements.
I have also had the opportunity to teach DSA at an engineering college, which strengthened my interest in helping students learn programming and problem-solving.

I believe in teaching Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) through simple explanations, practical examples, and hands-on problem-solving rather than memorizing solutions.
As an M.Tech graduate from IIIT Hyderabad with professional software engineering experience at Amazon, Humango, and Cognizant, I help students build strong programming fundamentals and develop the confidence to solve coding problems independently.
My Teaching Approach:
- Start with basic concepts and real-world examples.
- Explain brute-force approaches before moving to optimized solutions.
- Teach time and space complexity analysis.
- Practice LeetCode-style coding and interview questions.
