About Annie

I am final year Medical Biosciences student at Imperial College London.

I am a friendly and passionate tutor who wants to share my understanding of life sciences. I pride myself on my ability to help and support fellow peers in academic studies as well as daily life, whilst being conscientious and diligent when working in a team.

Having been in your shoes, I appreciate the rigorous process of exams, and sincerely want to support you at any point you need on your academic journey. Moreover, since I have finished my GCSE/A-level journey fairly recently, I have got all the contents fresh in mind, with detailed notes and resources just from hand.

As a student myself with two years of tutoring experience so far, I understand what you expect out of each lesson, as well as the importance to tailor sessions to unique individuals.

Furthermore, as a native Chinese speaker, I can also offer help for language learning in Mandarin, and also happy to offer Mandarin speakers with help in academic learning or English support.

About the lesson

I provide lessons in Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Psychology and Mandarin up to GCSE (or equivalent) level.

As a mentor, I aim to tailor my lessons to fit every specific student, as each of us is a unique individual. I will help you in the way that you prefer.

Prior to tutoring, we can discuss what you are aiming to achieve out of these lessons, then set out some short-term and long-term goals, making sure that we gradually build on the areas that you want to improve.

Prior to lessons, I will ask which topic you would like to cover, so I can prepare resources and plan the lesson ahead (please do send me any notes or resources that you want to work on if you have).

In a typical lesson, we can start off with a few questions to test your original understanding of the topic, thus we can tackle specific areas that you are weaker on, or find most difficult to understand. I will break concepts down into subtopics and small understandable concepts for you to learn, in any form that you prefer. Again, my teaching style and lesson format can be very adaptable, as I want these lessons to be tailored to you.

After each lesson, we will summarise the content in the lesson, at which point you can give me any feedback on your feelings, and discuss what we might do in the next time.
