About Cat

Hi! I'm a Japanese tutor with over 12 years of experience living in Japan and 3 years of teaching experience.

I started learning Japanese as a complete beginner and achieved JLPT N1 in just three years, passing the exam in 2011. As a fellow language learner, I understand how challenging Japanese grammar can be, especially when it works differently from your native language. I can help you understand not just the rules, but also why certain expressions are used and how to use them naturally.

I mainly use *Minna no Nihongo* as my core textbook and can explain Japanese grammar in both Chinese and English. My lessons are friendly, practical and tailored to your level and goals. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning at your own pace.

Whether you're starting from zero, preparing for the JLPT, or learning Japanese for travel, daily life or work, I'll support you step by step and help you build confidence. Let's enjoy learning Japanese together!

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to each student's goals, level and learning pace. With over 12 years of living in Japan, 5 years of business Japanese experience, and 3 years of teaching experience, I can help you learn Japanese in a practical and structured way.

I mainly use *Minna no Nihongo* (みんなの日本語) as my core textbook. I can explain Japanese grammar and vocabulary in both Chinese and English, so you can learn in the language you feel most comfortable with.

I welcome beginners, JLPT N5–N3 learners, and students who want to improve their Japanese for travel, daily life or work. I have experience helping students progress to JLPT N3.

My lessons combine structured grammar learning, vocabulary building, practical examples and conversation practice. I adjust the pace and content to suit each student's needs, whether you are starting from zero or building on your existing Japanese skills.

Lessons are available online or in person in Sydney. My goal is to help you understand Japanese clearly and use it confidently in real-life situations.
