About Kumi
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been performing as a soloist and duo/trio in London and Dorset, France, Portugal and Tokyo, Japan.
I am a regular accompanist for local choirs and also have been performing for musicals.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes, I am CRB checked.

I simply enjoy playing music. Of course we sometimes need to practise hard, but it becomes a pleasure when we achieve the level we want. I just want to help my students to enjoy music.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
Piano and Flute up to Grade 8
Music theory up to Grade 5
- Tell me about your qualifications.
PIANO: PGDipMus (Trinity college of music) in Piano Accompaniment
LTCL (Licentiate)/FTCL (Fellowship) in Solo Piano
FLUTE: DipLCM (London college of music)
- How much do you charge?
£15/half an hour or £30/an hour for weekly lessons. ( I do not do fortnightly )
- Where do you teach?
I teach from my home near Bournemouth and Poole in Dorset. ( I do not travel to student's place.)
- When are you available?
I teach from Monday to Friday after school time and Saturday mornings.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages from 5 years old ( Year 1) to retired adults and all levels. Most of my students are studying for ABRSM / Trinity guildhall exams up to Grade 8 also Music theory up to Grade5. Some students however, are just learning music for pleasure, which is the most important thing!
