About Kosar
I’m a PhD researcher in cancer biology at UNSW Sydney, with over five years of academic, laboratory, and teaching experience. My background combines high-level scientific research with a passion for education, mentorship, and empowering students to succeed in both their studies and personal growth. I hold a fully funded scholarship and work in one of Australia’s leading cancer research labs, where I apply advanced techniques such as CRISPR, flow cytometry, gene editing, and RNA sequencing. Beyond research, I’ve spent years tutoring students of all ages — from high school learners preparing for final exams to postgraduate students writing theses or conducting lab work. What sets me apart is my ability to communicate clearly and patiently, no matter how complex the topic. I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed by scientific terms, to struggle with academic writing, or to speak English as a second language. That’s why I always adapt my teaching to each student’s level and learning style. I’m fluent in both English and Persian and deeply understand the challenges international students face — because I’ve walked that path myself. As a multidisciplinary PhD researcher and experienced educator, my teaching approach is centered on clarity, critical thinking, and real-world application. I believe students learn best when they not only understand concepts, but also see how to apply them in academic, lab, or life contexts. My goal is to turn complex material into meaningful, engaging learning experiences that build both confidence and competence.
Teaching Method and Techniques
I use a student-centered and flexible approach, adapting every lesson to your goals, background, and learning style. My methods include:
• Scaffolded explanations: Breaking down complex ideas step-by-step
• Active learning: Encouraging students to ask questions, make connections, and solve problems
