About Gowri

Teaching has always held a special place in my heart. My very first student was my sister, and although patience wasn't initially my strong suit, it has become a defining trait of mine in this journey. I understand the challenges of learning math firsthand, having once resorted to rote memorization just to secure good grades. However, my perspective on math changed dramatically when I discovered a more enjoyable and effective way to approach it.

I realized that math could be exciting and accessible, not just a chore. This revelation transformed my relationship with the subject. Math became easier, and I dare say, even fun. It's this newfound enthusiasm and the desire to share it with others that led me to teaching. I want my students to experience the same shift, to see that math isn't about memorizing formulas but about understanding concepts and solving real-world problems.

About the lesson

My teaching approach centers around adapting to each student's pace of understanding. Rushing through lessons when a student is struggling to grasp the content doesn't serve their learning journey effectively. Instead, I prioritize a student's comprehension.

In class, I start by explaining concepts using relatable examples to ensure they're crystal clear. Once we've established a solid foundation, we delve into problem-solving. We work on problems until the student fully comprehends the methods and techniques.

If there's a need to accelerate progress due to time constraints, we can set a timeline for the topics to be covered. I'm flexible with scheduling additional classes to ensure we cover the necessary material thoroughly.

My classes cater primarily to students up to the 8th grade. Over my years of teaching experience, my students have attested to my patience and my ability to align the teaching pace with their understanding. It's all about making sure that students grasp the concepts and build confidence in their math skills at their own pace.

To start with the classes are really good! And they are worth the fee being paid. For someone like me who has never been trained in musical instruments, I feel like this has been a great opportunity, to start something new. Moreover, even if the classes are online the quality of teaching is still worth it. I do enjoy exploring new songs and I find the homework pretty useful as well. I think fixing a day every week for the classes helps me to be more prepared. Looking forward to more!
