About Julia
Hi! I am an Enhanced DBS certified A-level Mathematics and Physics tutor, specialising in supporting ambitious students aiming for top grades and competitive university courses, including Oxbridge, Imperial College London, and UCL. I also provide guidance with personal statements and the Oxbridge application process.
Having recently gone through this journey myself and received 5/5 university offers (including Oxford, Imperial, and UCL), I understand both the academic demands and the pressures students face. I use this experience to help make the process clearer, more structured, and more manageable at every stage for my students.
My teaching style is friendly, approachable, and structured. I focus on building strong conceptual understanding whilst keeping lessons clear and efficient, helping students develop both confidence and enjoyment in their subjects. My aim is not only to help students perform at their best in exams, but also to equip them with the skills and mindset needed for future academic success.

I have over two years of tutoring experience, with more than 150 hours of lessons delivered. During this time, I have worked with a wide range of students, including students for whom English is an additional language.
My tutoring is highly structured and tailored to each student’s individual needs and goals. I focus on quickly identifying gaps in understanding and addressing them through clear, efficient explanations and targeted practice. Alongside this, I place strong emphasis on building confidence and engagement, ensuring students feel supported while being appropriately challenged.
A key focus of my teaching is developing strong exam technique and problem-solving skills, enabling students to apply their knowledge effectively under timed exam conditions, which is particularly important at A-level.
I have supported students in improving their grades, strengthening their understanding of challenging topics, and developing greater independence in their learning. At A-level, I provide focused support for students aiming for A* grades and competitive university courses, including Oxbridge and other top Russell Group universities. This includes subject-specific exam preparation, as well as guidance with personal statements and interview preparation, including mock interviews where appropriate.
