About Rachel

Hi, I’m Rachel—a passionate and patient tutor with a strong background in middle school math and science. I hold a master’s degree in Gifted Education and have years of experience working in inclusive classrooms, supporting students of all ability levels. I’m especially skilled at helping students who learn differently, whether they need extra support or are ready for greater academic challenge. My sessions are encouraging, engaging, and tailored to each student’s needs. I focus on building confidence as well as understanding—so students don’t just get the right answer, they get why it’s right. About the lesson

As a tutor, I create a supportive, engaging environment where students feel confident, curious, and capable. My approach blends clear instruction with active, hands-on learning—using visuals, questioning, and scaffolded practice to help concepts stick. I specialize in math and science for middle school students (grades 6–8) and have extensive experience working with a wide range of learners, including students with IEPs, neurodiverse learners, and those seeking enrichment. Whether a student needs help catching up, staying on track, or diving deeper, I tailor each session to their unique learning style and goals.

With a master’s degree in Gifted Education and a strong background in inclusive classroom teaching, I’m passionate about helping students grow beyond what they thought possible. Each session is structured but flexible—balancing review, direct instruction, active practice, and reflection—so students leave with a deeper understanding and stronger academic confidence. Whether your child needs support, challenge, or a little of both, I’ll design lessons to help them thrive.
