About FJ

Though I am a computer engineer who dabbles in social sciences, I have been a tutor for diverse students ranging from business majors to social sciences to math majors to engineers. FJ brings a vast array of knowledge from engineering disciplines and brings the “engineering mindset” into his teaching. He stresses the importance of said mindset by challenging his students to critically think. He shows a deep and genuine commitment to not only teaching specific topics but instilling the seeds for true and innate curiosity.

You will not regret using FJ as your tutor. He is smart, but able to explain things in a way that’s understandable. He’s resourceful and probably the most responsible person I know. He’s completely invested in everything he does and will probably lose sleep if your student isn’t doing well. I can’t recommend him highly enough!

FJ tailors his lessons to his student’s needs and makes sure they have a clear understanding of each concept. He really takes his time and cares about his students. He tutored me for Calc 2 and I passed with flying colors!! I was struggling before having him tutor me, but in the end I did so well thanks to him! I can’t recommend him enough! He’s funny too :)
