About Angela

I taught in Houston public Schools for nearly ten years. I have experience teaching middle and high school math. I also taught SAT prep classes and math tricks for standardized tests and math competitions. I mostly taught Algebra and Geometry but I have tutored up to college pre calculus. Typically everyone hates the math teacher, but I had clubs in my room every day.

About the lesson

I Taught math for ten years in middle and high schools in Texas. Experience with Special Ed, ESL, and gifted needs. I work with students to emphasize and bring out their strengths and build their background knowledge. Math is its own language, and students need to learn to both speak math and translate English into math. I approach math from a basic yet in depth perspective that encourages generalization of learning and building of essential skills. Everyone can do math, but learning it takes practice and patience.
