I was lucky enough to have George as my maths tutor throughout my A-levels, and I genuinely can’t recommend him highly enough. His teaching made a noticeable difference to both my understanding of maths and my confidence in tackling difficult topics.

What I found particularly effective about George’s teaching was the way he adapted his approach to suit what I actually needed help with. Rather than simply going through questions and giving me the answers, he took the time to identify the areas I was struggling with and explain them in a way that actually made sense to me. He was especially good at breaking down complicated topics into smaller, manageable steps, which made a huge difference when I was dealing with some of the more challenging parts of the A-level course.

His tutoring also worked really well alongside my lessons at school. He never felt like he was simply repeating what I had already been taught. Instead, he was able to build on what we were doing in class, fill in gaps in my understanding and tackle the areas that I hadn’t quite grasped. This meant that I could go into lessons feeling much more prepared and actually understand why I was doing something, rather than just memorising a method.

I also really appreciated his patience. If I didn’t understand something the first time, he would approach it from a different angle until it clicked. That made it much easier to ask questions and admit when I didn’t understand something, which I think is really important when learning maths.

Over the time I was tutored by George, I saw a significant improvement in both my ability and my confidence. His support genuinely helped me progress by several grades and had a big impact on my overall learning throughout A-levels.
