About Yusuf
Hello! My name is Yusuf, and I am an incoming Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Michigan. I earned a 1550 SAT score (790 Math, 760 Reading and Writing) and maintained a strong academic record while taking rigorous STEM coursework. I am passionate about helping students build confidence, improve their understanding, and achieve their academic goals.
I believe effective tutoring goes beyond finding the right answer—it involves developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills that students can apply independently. I strive to create a patient, supportive, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and tackling challenging material.

My tutoring style focuses on understanding concepts rather than memorizing formulas. I help students break down challenging problems into manageable steps and develop the confidence to solve similar problems on their own. I adapt each lesson to the student’s needs and learning style, creating a supportive environment where questions are encouraged.
A typical lesson includes reviewing key concepts, working through practice problems together, and building strategies for approaching new questions independently. My goal is not only to improve grades and test scores but also to strengthen long-term problem-solving skills.
I am an incoming Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Michigan with a 1550 SAT score (790 Math, 760 Reading and Writing). In addition, I founded Project Shifa, a community initiative focused on educating participants about healthy lifestyles and reducing risk factors associated with metabolic syndrome. These experiences have strengthened my ability to explain complex topics clearly and work effectively with students from different backgrounds.
My lessons are best suited for middle school and high school students seeking support in mathematics, physics, and SAT preparation
