About Ikenna
Hey there! Welcome to my profile!
My name is Ikenna Ibeanusi. I am 22 years old.
I am currently undertaking a Masters in Biomedical science as an intercalating student. I have finished four years of Medical school in the university of Plymouth and will be returning back to my final year of medicine after this year of study.
I grew up in Nigeria for 10 years, before moving out to Uganda, then Kenya, and then finally Cardiff, where I did my A level studies in “Cardiff Sixth Form College” (The best sixth form college for A levels in the country at the time).
I am quite ambitious. However, I often find that I often severely underestimate my academic ability. Without my mother there to push me as far as I could go, I sincerely doubt that I would ever have made it into medicine. She was the driving force for my academic success. In turn, I too hope to be the driving force (or one of the many) for yours!
Acting as a UCAS tutor for my Sixth Form has been very eye opening. It was here that I was given the opportunity to refine my teaching style. By gaining a thorough understanding of my students, I was able to utilise a heavily empathetic, and thorough teaching method to greatly improve their respective academic stances. I also aim to inspire my students so that they will go forth into the future with the skills required to be sound independent learners.
In my heart of hearts, I truly do feel like all anyone really needs to succeed is an opportunity, and someone who believes in them. I can only hope that any belief I instil in you will help propel you closer to your goals.

Our lessons will be online.
I generally prefer to have a teaching methodlogy similar to how my teachers have taught me. Wherein we begin the session by going over a topic that you may not be fully comfortable with. My goal here is to try to see exactly where misunderstandings stem from, and to reframe the information in a way that makes it easier to understand.
The latter part of our sessions will then be focused on utilising the information we've learned by answering questions you'll see in your exams later. I will also be asking questions throughout our sessions to ensure that your learning is consistent.
After which, I may or may not assign extra work depending on how much we get through during the session/ how comfortable you are with the topic.
Many of my students have achieved successful scores in their exams because of these methods. I look forward to helping you in any way I can.

As a student who struggles to find the right questions to ask about a subject, I always receive the best guidance from Ikenna. Not only is he patient when tutoring, but he always takes it upon himself to congratulate his students when they make subtle improvements. The care and empathy that he exudes is what makes him a great tutor.
Ikenna is one of the most hardworking and dedicated people I know. He is my older brother and has helped me a lot in the past. He puts his all into everything he does and everyone he tutors. He ensures the success of all his students and never gives up. Put your trust in him and you will not be disappointed.
I have known Ikenna since he started studying Medicine at Plymouth University Peninsula Medical School in 2018. He is a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills and a love of science. Ikenna is reliable and amiable and always strives to do his best.

I am a careers adviser and have employed Ikenna as a UCAS application tutor for my students for the past two years. He ran 1-2-1 sessions and small group sessions as part of his role. Ikenna is empathetic, a great communicator, and has strong organisational skills. He is a fantastic tutor and I cannot recommend him highly enough.
