About Harikalan
I would like to teach because I know how difficult it is to find the right method to revise and the frustration of getting a topic right one time, and then wrong later on. I would like to get my tutees to fully grasp the content that they learn so that they are eventually comfortable enough to teach it themselves. I also loved helping people in my school with revision because by doing so, it allowed me to revise passively too.

My teaching style varies depending on the age of the tutee:
- If the tutee is young and just wants to catch up to the rest of the class, then I would consolidate topics that have been covered in their school classes. Assessments wouldn't be regular, only at the end of the month or two, and spontaneous assessments if I feel the child is able to above and beyond their school curriculum, so I can provide them with a headstart before their school teaches them.
- Tutees with exams coming up, e.g. GCSE students are more likely to have specific topics which they struggle with, so ensuring that they feel confident in those topics by the end of the lesson is the main goal. This would be achieved by firstly checking if they understand the theory and the methods to solving a question. I will try to stick to the method that the school has taught, unless the child completely does not understand, in which I will go over alternative methods which may help the child. Exam questions will be frequent after each topic as for GCSEs, being exposed to exam questions early will allow the student to be prepared for their exams.
My lessons will be an 1-2 hours long as this time is not too short for the tutees to understand a topic, but it is also not too long where they lose concentration.
My lessons are primarily aimed for children aged 6 to 16 (KS2 to GCSEs), however anyone who is willing to learn is welcome
