About Dario
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from MIT and have over ten years of experience teaching and tutoring Mathematics at top international schools across North America, Europe, and Asia.
I specialize in AP, IB, IGCSE, A Level and advanced high school Mathematics, including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, and Calculus. Over the years, I have worked with numerous students, often supporting those who needed a more precise, structured, and conceptually clear approach to succeed.
My teaching focuses on building a deep understanding of underlying concepts while developing strong problem-solving skills. I work closely with each student, using targeted exercises and past paper questions to identify gaps, strengthen foundations, and improve performance efficiently.
Lessons are tailored, focused, and results-oriented, with an emphasis on clarity, rigor, and confidence.
I began teaching while completing my studies in Mathematics, initially working with individual students and small groups.
Over time, this developed into a full professional path, including teaching positions at international schools and extensive one-on-one tutoring. I found that personalized teaching allows for a much deeper and more effective learning process, which is why I continue to focus on it.
I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from MIT, with a concentration in Philosophy from Harvard University.
In addition, I have over ten years of experience teaching and tutoring Mathematics across multiple curricula, including AP, IB, IGCSE and A Levels, in leading international schools and private settings.

I begin with a focused initial assessment to understand the student’s current level, strengths, and specific areas of difficulty. This includes reviewing recent work, identifying gaps in understanding, and clarifying academic goals.
Based on this, I define clear priorities and structure a plan tailored to the student. Sessions are typically centered around carefully selected problems, often from past papers, which allow us to address both technique and underlying concepts.
Throughout the process, I place strong emphasis on building a deep and independent understanding, so that the student gains confidence and is able to approach new problems effectively.
I have worked with a wide range of students, from those aiming for top academic performance to those who needed to rebuild their understanding from the ground up.
A significant part of my experience involves supporting students who had not progressed with previous tutors and required a more precise, structured, and conceptually clear approach.
I would recommend looking for a tutor who focuses not only on solving problems, but on helping you understand why methods work.
Clarity of explanation, structure, and the ability to adapt to your way of thinking are essential. A good tutor should help you become progressively more independent, not dependent on guidance.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
It is helpful to be clear about your goals, whether they are exam preparation, improving grades, or strengthening fundamental understanding.
You may also want to consider which topics you find most challenging, how you prefer to learn, and what kind of support you feel has been missing so far.

Deadly! We had a great experience working with Dario. He’s very patient and knowledgeable, and understood the needs of my son who has ADHD, and tailored his session accordingly. My son felt prepared and so much more confident going into testing.
We will definitely request his tutoring again soon, and highly recommend him!View more reviews

IGCSE Maths - Great approach and ability to explain. Patient and understanding. Also able to motivate. My son seems to be enjoying his maths lessons with Dario! - Christel
IB Maths Applications and Interpretations - Super patient and an awesome teacher. Dario follows students really well. He is passionate about what he teaches and explains things very clearly. - Barbara
IB Maths Analysis and Approaches - Dario is a great tutor. I joked with him the other lesson that he reminds me of Mr. Miyagi from The Karate Kid hahaha giving me exercises in class that seem unrelated at first, like `wax on, wax off`, but in the end reveal their purpose in a way that connects everything together. He has a great ability to take concepts and problems and explain them in a grounded, practical way, showing me how they relate to all sides of math. His high energy, supportive nature, and deep understanding of the suject make him a standout teacher. I highly recommend him! - Eva
Dario is very personable and well-mannered. I find math really intriguing now and I believe Dario played a large role in that. With his help, I was able to get a 4 on AP Calc :)
Mr. Lerer has been extremely helpful and patient with my daughter, Lara. She had tutoring with Mr. Lerer for the past 2 years. He is very knowledgeable in all math subjects, he was able to teach pre-calculus and calculus to her. Lara received A’s in her H.S. Math classes.
