About Amelie
I graduated from high school in the United States, where I studied AP and college-level mathematics, including precalculus, Calculus BC, and statistics. I also earned a 1500 on the SAT, including a 660 in Math. I'm a lover of all things art and social but I spent my high school career focused on STEM courses. So if you're "not a math person" I promise I understand and my main priority will be your attitude with the subject, test taking, and learning habits that better suit you individually. I offer flexible scheduling, including unusual hours when needed I'm a total night owl. I’m happy to adapt lessons to your student’s needs and goals. I look forward to helping your student feel more confident in math!

My strength is breaking down technical or intimidating concepts into explanations that work for both left-brained and right-brained students. With my background as a math nerd and my future in economics and law, logic and public speaking are my specialties. I approach problems systematically and adapt my explanations to suit each individual student.
My teaching style: Break problems into steps, figure out where the student gets stuck, emphasize conceptual understanding, and build a repeatable system they can use independently.
I especially specialize in Geometry, Algebra I, Algebra II, and SAT Math. Together, we’ll build a practical system that works for your student, whether that means strengthening foundational skills or preparing for an upcoming exam. We will avoid doing only classwork and instead I will encourage you to bring questions that need a deep explanation in order for you to create the skills and conceptually process.

Amelie was great. She tutored my son on Algebra. He’s very smart but an artist type and math is not his thing. She really understood how he thought and made the lightbulb go off for him. Last test was a B and he was failing before so I could not be prouder !!!
