About Miles
I am a 29 year old Nuclear Medicine Physicist working for the NHS. Whilst naturally my area of expertise is in Physics, you cannot practice Physics to any significant academic or professional level without also having a firm grasp of Mathematics. The two subjects are fundamentally intertwined.
My reasons for tutoring:
Physics was my least favourite A-Level at school and I struggled to get good grades in my AS level Physics.
Because of this my parents engaged a Physics tutor at the start of my final year of A-levels. This one to one tutoring turned my exam results around, and ultimately changed my life! Physics went from a subject I hated to one I loved, and ended up studying at University and pursuing a happy and fulfilling career in!
I am extremely grateful to my parents for affording me the opportunity to have a tutor. Their faith in my aptitude was matched only by the dedication of my tutor.
Now I can think of no better way to repay them but to pass on what I have learned. Whether your child already expresses an interest in pursuing further STEM studies, or is finding Physics or Mathematics a challenge, I aim to be that helping hand towards a more enjoyable and successful time studying these subjects!

I am a professional Physicist working for NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. I specialize in Nuclear Medicine and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre (BWoSCC).
I have a Master's Degree in Medical Physics from The University of Aberdeen and an Undergraduate Degree in Physics from Loughborough University.
I teach Physics and Mathematics by the hour online, or preferably face to face. Either at my home in the West End of Glasgow or at your home.
In the run-up to exams; in my experience there is no substitute for past paper practice. These build confidence through familiarity, and highlight areas of weaker knowledge/understanding which can be worked on in a supportive atmosphere. However, if I am instructed to teach your child early enough, revision of topics already covered in school are of course recommended before heading straight to exam papers.
Lessons will be prepared in advance, with a weeks notice once topic/level/past paper required are discussed and agreed.
