About Oliver
I’m a friendly and approachable tutor who genuinely enjoys helping others learn and grow. Alongside strong A-Level results (AA*A in Maths, Chemistry, and Biology), I’m studying Mechanical Engineering at Durham University. I teach students A-Level Maths and Chemistry, as well as GCSE Maths, Chemistry, and Physics. I have experience tutoring through Tutoring Heroes, where I taught students across different levels and abilities in A-Level Maths and Chemistry, GCSE Maths, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. My lessons are ideal for GCSE and A-Level students (ages 14–18) who want to improve grades, prepare for exams, or build long-term confidence in mathematics and science subjects. I’ve worked with children and teens for several years as a lead coach at Team Theme Kent, running fun and focused activities for groups of up to 30. That experience helped me develop great communication skills, patience, and the ability to keep students engaged — whether in sports or science! I bring that same energy and structure to my tutoring sessions, personalised lessons to suit your pace, goals, and confidence level. I’m here to support you through your challenges and help you build skills that stick — with a positive and relaxed vibe. In my spare time away from academic studies or tutoring, I partake in a plethora of sports ranging from football and martial arts to tennis. I also like to keep myself physically fit by running multiple times a week and strength training in the gym.

My tutoring approach is tailor-fitted to your needs. I use a methodical approach to build students' deep subject and conceptual understanding whilst also combining this with exam technique to help the achievement of personalised goals. I adapt my teaching style depending on whether the student needs foundational support or advanced problem-solving techniques. Lessons typically last 1 hour, but I can also offer 30-minute revision boosters or 90-minute sessions for more complex topics.
