About Katherine
With over 20 years' experience, I grew up in West Cornwall, and studied at Chelsea College of Art (BA), Wimbledon and The Royal Drawing School. I developed my current practice of working directly from life about 12 years ago under the tutelage of highly regarded painters. I have taught drawing classes for people with varied cognitive and physical abilities.

I love nothing more than to share the wonderful activity of painting and drawing with fellow artists. I believe that this is an activity that all can benefit from. In our sessions I will teach you ways of approaching drawing and painting from an embodied practical and philosophical perspective that builds authentic connection, confidence and increased involvement. We will cover materials, and discuss how other artists have tackled the challenges of capturing their experiences of looking.
Most importantly we will work intensively, establishing approaches that will work for you individually in a way that allows you to keep exploring and challenging yourself. These practices will develop how you engage with art, nature and the visual world in profound and joyful ways. Perfect for building a body of work, or simply to discover or remind yourself of the enduring thrill of painting from life. Sessions are for all ages and levels of experience.
