About Joanna
I believe education is one of the most powerful investments we can make in a child’s future. As a dedicated tutor with over 25 years teaching special education and over 50 years of playing the piano, I bring both legitimacy and professionalism to every session. My approach is rooted in patience, proven teaching strategies, and a commitment to tailoring lessons to each learner’s unique needs. Learning should feel empowering—not overwhelming. My teaching philosophy centers on building confidence first, because when students believe they can succeed, real progress follows.
I take the time to understand each student’s learning style, strengths, and challenges. From there, I design lessons that are clear, engaging, and tailored to the individual. I don’t rely on “one-size-fits-all” worksheets; instead, I use a mix of real-life examples, hands-on practice, and step-by-step guidance to make concepts stick.
My approach includes:
