About Michael
I'm a mathematician, coder, and biologist based in London. I recently completed a PhD in genomics at the University of Oxford, from where I also hold a First Class MMath degree in mathematics.
I have extensive experience tutoring at all levels, from GCSE and A-level to fourth-year undergraduate, as well as EFL teaching to French students and maths tuition to non-UK students.
I am also able to tutor German, Music, Physics, and Programming.

I'm able to give maths tuition at all levels, both teaching new topics and consolidating and detangling problem topics. I encourage an honest and directional approach to maths learning that involves working with the student to identify key problem areas and systematically filling in holes in knowledge, providing a sound basis for further study and exam success. I also highly encourage the "consultation" style sessions for both exams and for homework: these entail a student engaging with their own weaknesses, and preparing in advance any questions or topics that they think they need help with, removing any shame associated with it, and zapping those topics in a lesson.
I'm a friendly and personable tutor with broad interests, including music and sport, and would consider myself relatable and easy to engage with! I'm also happy to help with general educational guidance.
