About Soban
My name is Soban, and I am an Oxford Physics offer holder with a strong interest in Maths, Physics and problem-solving. I achieved all 9s at GCSE and am predicted 3 A*s at A-Level, so I understand what it takes to perform well in these exams.
I want to teach because I know how much difference clear explanation, good exam technique and the right study methods can make. Many students struggle not because they are incapable, but because topics are explained in a confusing way or they do not know exactly what examiners are looking for. My aim is to make difficult ideas feel more intuitive, help students avoid common mistakes, and give them practical methods they can use independently.

My tutoring approach is based on clear understanding first, followed by targeted exam practice. I recently sat these exams myself, so I know the current content, common mistakes, mark scheme wording, and the exam techniques that actually help students gain marks.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s exam board, current grade, target grade and weak topics. I focus on explaining concepts intuitively, then applying them to carefully chosen questions so students understand both the method and the reasoning behind it. I also use evidence-informed study methods such as retrieval practice, spaced review, worked examples, interleaving and targeted feedback to help students retain content more effectively.
A typical lesson is 1 hour. Sessions usually include a short recap of previous work, explanation of a key topic, guided examples, exam-style questions, correction of mistakes, and homework to consolidate the lesson. I also give practical tips on revision strategy, efficient practice, avoiding common errors, and writing answers in the way examiners expect.
I am an Oxford Physics offer holder, achieved all 9s at GCSE, am predicted 3 A*s at A-Level, and have 2 years of tutoring experience at AE Tuition. I teach GCSE Maths, Physics and Further Maths/Additional Maths, as well as A-Level Maths, Further Maths, Physics and ESAT Maths I & II / Physics.
