About Imogen

I have been playing the piano for 30 years since I was a young child. I particularly love late classical and romantic music. I love teaching because I get to share what I have learned and I especially enjoy watching students improve and the joy it brings them. I am very grateful for having the opportunity and ability to do music, and even more grateful to pass that on to others.

About the lesson

Each lesson is catered to the individual, with a strong focus on technique and foundation, therefore paving the way for the student to learn the music they choose. I believe that the best way to learn or improve a skill is to be passionate about it. I'm also a strong believer in the piano being an all-round great skill to learn to improve learning, memory, cognitive thinking, artistic development and coordination. I have experience teaching all ages, from beginner up to post grade 8 level. If you choose to do exams, I also have experience with all the exam boards with my students achieving excellent results.

Deadly! She was very friendly, and she steered me along what would be a good combination of pieces for the ARSM:
Mozart/Beethoven/Debussy. I had told her that 19
days ago I fell over and I had a bump which moved around a bit. I am a lot better, but I had trouble playing the ornaments in the K309 by Mozart my memory isn't that good. (I did it in 1984) I am going to try and play some Beethoven the slow movt in
the Pathetique Sonata again I did it a long time ago.
I think I can resurrect it, it's very soothing.
Finally I want to do a new one which I have on a DVD
by Debussy. The sounds and perfumes turn around
in the evening air. Just 3 or 4 pages...Imogen complimented me on my playing thanks Imogen!
