About Nikanor
I am Nikanor, a petroleum engineer, now based in the UK after completing my MSc in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Aberdeen. Before that, I studied Applied Physics and Mathematics. I started tutoring in 2021 and have kept going because I enjoy the moment a topic finally clicks for a student. I remember finding some of these subjects hard at first myself, so I am patient and never make anyone feel silly for asking a question. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy chess, football and travelling.

My lessons are built around you. In the first session, I find out where you are, what you find difficult and what you are aiming for, whether that is a better grade, exam confidence or simply understanding a topic properly.
I have tutored physics and mathematics since 2021 and hold a BSc (Hons) in Applied Physics and Mathematics and an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Aberdeen. I use that background to show how the maths and physics actually work in the real world, which makes concepts easier to remember.
Each lesson combines clear explanations, worked examples and practice questions targeted at your weak areas. I also teach exam technique, so you learn how to pick up marks under pressure. I tutor GCSE, A Level and university students, and I keep track of your progress so every lesson builds on the last.
