About Mehwish

Unlock the Secrets of Chemistry with an Expert!
MPhil | Organic Chemistry Specialist | MOF Researcher | Multi-Subject Tutor

Are complex chemical reactions giving you a headache? Struggling with spectroscopy, reaction mechanisms, or tricky math problems? You're in the right place!

I’m Mehwish Kiran, a dedicated and passionate MPhil in Chemistry with extensive teaching experience and a strong academic foundation. My journey through chemistry has not only equipped me with deep subject knowledge but also with the skills to make it engaging, understandable, and fun for students of all levels.

My specialization lies in Organic Chemistry, and my research focuses on Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs)—a unique and exciting area that merges organic and inorganic chemistry. This means I bring an integrated approach to teaching, making connections across different branches of chemistry.

My expertise spans a wide range of topics, including spectroscopy (NMR, IR, UV-Vis), reaction mechanisms, stereochemistry, chromatography, crystallography, and analytical chemistry. Whether you're tackling college-level organic chemistry or brushing up on your analytical skills, I’m here to help you master the material with confidence.

But my passion for teaching doesn't stop at chemistry. I also enjoy helping students in biology, physics, botany, and especially mathematics at the school level. My goal is to support students in developing both subject mastery and a love for learning.

Whether you're preparing for exams, struggling with concepts, or aiming to get ahead, I’ll tailor each session to your unique learning style and academic needs. Together, we’ll turn confusion into clarity—and stress into success.

Let’s explore the fascinating world of science together. Book a session and start your journey today!

As an M.Phil. graduate in Chemistry with extensive experience teaching both Chemistry and Mathematics, my approach is concept-focused, student-centered, and tailored to individual learning needs. I simplify complex topics using real-life examples, visual aids, and step-by-step guidance to ensure deep understanding rather than rote memorization. Each lesson includes a quick review, clear explanation of new concepts, guided problem-solving, independent practice, and targeted feedback. I work with high school and college students, including those preparing for board exams, entrance tests, or needing subject support at any level. My dual subject expertise, patient teaching style, and commitment to personalized instruction help students build confidence, improve performance, and develop lasting academic skills.

  • 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

I developed a love for chemistry during my school years because of a teacher who made the subject enjoyable and easy to understand. This passion grew stronger as I continued my studies and eventually completed my MPhil in Organic Chemistry. Over time, I also discovered my interest in teaching—helping students understand concepts they once found difficult became very rewarding for me. This naturally led me into private tutoring.
  • 2) Tell us more about the subjects you teach and the topics you enjoy discussing with students.

I teach chemistry, biology, and elementary-level mathematics. I especially enjoy breaking down complex chemistry concepts—such as reactions, molecular structures, and mechanisms—and helping students connect them to real-life examples. In math, I love making topics like algebra and problem-solving simple and fun by relating them to everyday situations. I also enjoy guiding students through general science problems found in tests like the GED, which I find exciting to work on.
  • 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

Yes. My school chemistry teacher first sparked my interest in the subject by making chemistry feel friendly and easy. Later, my university mentor, Khawaja Ansar Yasin, encouraged me to think deeper, explore research papers, and understand concepts beyond the surface. Their influence shaped my approach to both learning and teaching.
  • 4) What qualities do you think are required to be a good tutor?

A good tutor must be patient, understanding, and able to simplify complex concepts. It’s important to recognize that every student learns differently, so adapting your teaching style is essential. Strong communication skills, enthusiasm for the subject, and the ability to inspire confidence and curiosity also make a tutor truly effective.
  • 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or days at school.

During a school experiment that didn’t go as expected, my teacher encouraged us to figure out what went wrong rather than feel discouraged. This taught me the value of critical thinking and seeing mistakes as learning opportunities—something I now try to instill in my students.
  • 6) What difficulties or challenges have you faced in your subject?

Chemistry and math can be challenging for many students because they require both conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. Topics like organic mechanisms or algebra often seem intimidating at first. My challenge has always been to make these topics easier by connecting them with real-life examples and breaking them down step by step.
  • 7) Do you have a particular passion?

My passion lies in making learning enjoyable and meaningful. I love teaching science and math in ways that spark curiosity and help students understand the logic behind every concept. Seeing students gain confidence and begin to enjoy subjects they once feared is the most fulfilling part of teaching for me.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof?

I bring strong subject knowledge, creativity, and a student-centered teaching style to every lesson. Whether it’s chemistry, biology, or math, I focus on making lessons interactive, simple, and enjoyable. My goal is always to help students not only improve academically but also develop a genuine interest in learning.
