About Joseph
I attended university in a foreign country, studying a difficult subject. I understand how it feels to feel out of your depth, and know very well the struggles one can face in their studies. I would like to use my own experience with these past struggles to serve as a guide in helping others overcome their own sets of academic challenges.
As for my education, I graduated from Kāpiti College in New Zealand, going on to study physics at the Technical University of Munich in Germany. There, I specialized in particle physics and advanced quantum mechanics, writing my bachelor's thesis on the former subject area. Following this, I was employed at the German National Metrology Institute, where I conducted research on cutting edge areas in quantum and atomic physics. I am back in New Zealand to spend some time with my family prior to my next academic endeavors.

Over the past 3 years, I've tutored a wide variety of students, each with unique strengths and weaknesses. Through this, I've learned how to meet students where they're struggling, relate to their difficulties, and ultimately guide them to understanding what they were capable of all along.
I am very familiar with the NCEA Maths and Physics curriculum, and very well versed in areas of advanced mathematics and physics. I have cultivated my own knowledge by teaching it to others, and I delight in helping learners overcome academic challenges.
