About David
Hi! I'm a dedicated online tutor with a strong background in physics, mathematics, and computer science. I hold an Honors bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of Toronto, with minors in Computer Science and Mathematics. Before tutoring, I worked as a data scientist at IBM, specializing in developing educational content in machine learning, statistics, and data science. Many of the popular courses I contributed to can be found on Coursera and EdX! Beyond my academic and tech background, I am an active commercial pilot currently flying the DC-3T around the world. My diverse experiences allow me to bring a unique, practical perspective to the subjects I teach. I’m passionate about helping students grasp complex concepts in an intuitive way, making learning engaging and rewarding. I believe that the best learning happens when complex ideas are broken down into intuitive, real-world connections. I prioritize developing a deep, intuitive understanding of the concepts rather than memorizing the steps of how to solve a problem. My approach is student-centered, adapting to individual learning styles and needs. In particular, I relate the concepts and topics being studied to a topic that the student is already familiar with to facilitate a deeper understanding.
