As a seasoned educator with over 15 years of experience, I have dedicated my career to helping students achieve their full potential in mathematics and physics. My journey began when I was still in high school, tutoring calculus at the local community college. Since then, I have gained a wealth of experience teaching at all levels, from introductory courses to advanced graduate seminars.
My passion for education and commitment to excellence led me to pursue a PhD in Physics, which has allowed me to stay current with the latest research and developments in the field. With my extensive knowledge and experience, I am confident in my ability to help students understand even the most challenging concepts in physics and mathematics.
I understand the importance of creating a supportive and engaging learning environment, and I approach each student with empathy and understanding. During my 15 years of teaching experience, I’ve learned that the best teaching practices are those centered around the student and the student’s own abilities. Every student has different skill levels and backgrounds, so it’s important to quickly understand each person’s own unique strengths and weaknesses. This helps me better target my teaching on the more problem areas and help to overcome these together. Often times, a problem can be quickly solved after one or two hang-ups are cleared up and worked through.
I typically begin my lessons with asking about the biggest problem areas of a particular homework set, exam, or concept. Starting at the largest problem and working backwards can often be the best way to reach an understanding. If an entire concept is not clear or it’s not clear where to even begin, then I’ll start at the beginning and work through each step until we both arrive at a clear solution.
As I work through a problem with you, I’ll often take pauses and ask if a particular step makes sense before proceeding. If unclear, I’ll go back and try to explain in a different manner until it becomes digestible and understandable.
All online sessions will be worked through on a Wacom tablet and the notes will be saved to a pdf document that will be sent to you after our session ends. If anything remains unclear after our session, or you would like some concepts reclarified, I am always happy to receive your questions.
I really want to see you succeed and excel! This is my main goal as a tutor. Of course, I also want you to get high grades and excel at these subjects. They really can be learned by anyone. And if you are willing to work with me, I know you can do it!
My tutoring sessions are for any students studying Physics, Math, and their related exams at both high school and college/university levels. Physics courses I’ve taught in the past include Calculus-Based Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Electricity & Magnetism, Optics, Quantum Mechanics, and Relativity. Math courses I’ve taught in the past include College Algebra, Calculus I/II/III, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations. I have also tutored many high school courses include Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, and AP Calculus AB/BC. I am also available to help prepare for math and physics standardized exams, including GRE Physics, GRE Math, MCAT Physics, SAT Math Subject Exam, SAT Physics Subject Exam, ACT Math, SAT Math, and AP Calculus AB/BC Exam.
