About Eira

I hold an M.Mus in Piano Performance and Music Education and have 8 years of experience teaching piano to learners of all ages and abilities. My teaching philosophy emphasizes combining technical precision with musical expression, cultivating well-rounded pianists. I create a supportive environment that encourages experimentation, creative exploration, and personal expression while maintaining solid technical foundations. Lessons include scales, exercises, repertoire, sight-reading, improvisation, duet work, and performance practice. I provide constructive feedback, personalized guidance, and strategies to ensure continuous improvement in both technical skill and musicality. My approach balances discipline with creativity, promoting steady growth and confident performance. Outside teaching, I perform regularly, explore diverse repertoire, and study innovative pedagogical methods to enhance my lessons. Teaching piano is deeply rewarding because I witness learners grow technically, musically, and expressively. Supporting students to achieve their full potential and artistic voice is the most fulfilling aspect of my work.

About the lesson

Piano lessons are most effective when learners integrate technical mastery, musical understanding, and expressive performance. I focus on finger independence, hand coordination, sight-reading, rhythm training, scales, arpeggios, tonal awareness, dynamics, phrasing, and ensemble skills. Lessons include structured exercises, repertoire practice, improvisation, duet and ensemble sessions, and performance simulations. I foster a nurturing environment where learners feel comfortable experimenting with musical ideas, exploring their creativity, and building confidence through practice. Mental exercises, guided reflection, and performance preparation help students internalize techniques and develop expressive artistry. My approach balances disciplined technical work with creative exploration, ensuring steady progress while cultivating a deep love for piano and music.

Lesson progression is tailored to each skill level. Beginners focus on posture, finger exercises, note reading, simple rhythms, and basic repertoire. Intermediate learners advance to more complex repertoire, hand coordination, phrasing, and expressive interpretation. Advanced students refine technique, interpretive skills, improvisation, and performance readiness. Constructive feedback, personalized exercises, and practice strategies are incorporated to foster technical skill, musicality, and confidence.

Piano lessons help students develop both technical expertise and expressive capability. They learn to interpret music authentically, perform with poise, and explore their creative voice. My goal is to support learners in becoming confident, expressive pianists, capable of technical mastery and musical artistry.
