About Yuka

Are you planning a trip to Japan but feeling nervous about communicating in Japanese?
Are you not sure how to start learning, or worried that studying alone isn’t enough?
Do you want to enjoy your trip more by understanding simple, natural Japanese?

If this sounds like you, I’d love to support you

▼ A little about me

I’m a native Japanese teacher from Nagano, Japan, now living in Melbourne for over 3 years.
Nagano is a very snowy area and a popular destination for Australian travelers — especially for nature, hot springs, and winter activities.

Before moving to Australia, I worked at a local tourist information center, as well as in hotels and at airports in Japan.
I met many Australian visitors there, and those experiences inspired me to move to Australia and support people who love Japan.

I’m currently working as a Japanese language teacher at a school, and I’ve completed a 420-hour Japanese teaching qualification.

Because I’ve learned English myself, I truly understand how challenging (and frustrating!) language learning can feel. That’s why I focus on creating a calm, supportive learning environment.

▼ My teaching style

・Beginner to intermediate friendly
・One-on-one lessons — mistakes are always welcome
・Lessons at your pace, even if you want to go slowly
・English support is available when needed
・Focus on building confidence, not perfection

My goal is to help you feel comfortable and confident using Japanese, especially while traveling.

▼ Perfect for travelers to Japan

I specialize in Japanese for travel, including:
・Hotels, cafés, restaurants & shopping
・Airports, trains, buses & Shinkansen
・Polite expressions & cultural manners
・Simple, useful grammar for real situations

I also love sharing travel tips, local culture, and onsen (hot spring) etiquette to help you enjoy Japan even more.

【Trial lesson (Free / 30 minutes)】

In our free 30-minute trial lesson, we will:
・talk about why you want to learn Japanese
・discuss your travel plans or concerns
・find the best lesson style for you

Whether you’re traveling soon and feeling rushed, or you’re a complete beginner who doesn’t know where to start — you’re very welcome.

A few things I love
Travel ️ / Onsen ️ / Walking / Disney

I look forward to meeting you and supporting your Japanese journey

▼ What you will learn
・Daily conversation for travel
・Japanese for airports, hotels, cafes & transport
・Useful travel phrases & polite expressions
・Basic grammar explained simply

▼ Lesson style
・Beginner to intermediate friendly
・Speaking-focused & practical
・Role-play based (real travel situations)

☆ I provide personal lesson notes made just for you, so you can review anytime.
