About Kenji

A devoted musician with a Bachelor's in Piano Performance and years of teaching experience. I'm driven by the joy of guiding students on their musical path, tailoring lessons to individual styles and goals.
Teaching is my passion—it's about nurturing creativity, building confidence, and sharing the transformative magic of music with each student.

About the lesson

Qualifications/Experience as a Tutor:
With years of experience, I hold a Bachelor and Masters of Music in Performance. My extensive background includes teaching in multiple schools in the UK and Japan, privately, honing my ability to effectively engage students and foster their musical growth.

Techniques and Teaching Methodology:
I adopt a tailored approach, customizing lessons to suit individual learning styles and goals. Emphasizing fundamentals like technique and music theory, I integrate diverse teaching methods, ensuring a well-rounded musical education. Practical application through playing, supplemented by theory reinforcement, enhances comprehension and skill development.

Typical Length of a Lesson:
Lessons typically run for 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the student's age, skill level, and objectives. For younger or beginner students, shorter sessions may be more suitable to maintain engagement and focus.

Who Are My Lessons For:
My lessons cater to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced pianists, spanning various age groups. I welcome children, teenagers, and adults, tailoring instruction to meet the unique needs and aspirations of each student.

Ultimately, my goal is to instill a deep appreciation for music while nurturing technical proficiency, creativity, and a lifelong love for playing the piano.

Kenji is a great piano teacher. I really enjoy my lessons with him. He has helped me improve my piano level as I work towards my ABRSM grade 5 exam which I will do soon. He has helped me grasp theory concepts that I didn't quite understand with previous teachers and I am always looking forward to the next lesson.
