I was a bit sceptical about learning drawing online, but it works really well. I can share my screen, get feedback immediately and practise using my own setup. I actually prefer it to in-person classes now.

I needed help preparing an illustration portfolio. The lessons were practical and focused on what I actually wanted to achieve. It's much easier to share references and work digitally online than carry everything to a class.

Really enjoyed the lessons with Tadeo. I learned a lot about drawing faces, proportions and light. He's very patient and explains things without making them complicated. I thought I would miss being in a classroom, but online is actually much better for me.

What surprised me most was how much of the lesson was actually discussion. I expected Tadeo to sit there and demonstrate everything, but instead he kept asking me what I thought was happening in my own drawing. At first I thought, “Just tell me!” Eventually I realised that's probably the point. I'm much better at diagnosing my own mistakes now.

I wanted to get better at drawing clothes for character design. What I didn't expect was how much of the lesson would be about the body underneath the clothes. Tadeo showed me how fabric behaves differently depending on tension, gravity and the movement of the person wearing it. Suddenly folds stopped looking like random squiggles. I have no idea why nobody explained it that way before

I don't have loads of free time, so doing the lessons online makes a big difference. I can finish work, make dinner, and then sit down for the lesson without losing half the evening travelling somewhere. Tadeo is very flexible and usually works with whatever I’m currently struggling with.

The expressions lesson was so much fun. We drew the same character feeling happy, angry, embarrassed, exhausted etc and changed only a few things each time. I realised I was drawing basically the same face for every emotion. Tadeo was really good at pointing out tiny changes that made a huge difference. I’ve been using the exercises for my own characters since.

The online format works really well for me. I have a little studio at home and can just leave everything set up between lessons, which makes practicing much easier. I also like being able to work directly on my own projects instead of doing exercises that have nothing to do with what I’m trying to draw. Tadeo is very good at adapting the lesson to whatever problem I’m having

I made a terrible mistake in my first watercolour and immediately wanted to start again. Tadeo basically said, ‘keep going.’ We used the mistake as part of the painting and worked around it. I’m glad I did because the finished result ended up being much more interesting than the original plan. It was a good lesson in not trying to control every single mark

The class was almost the opposite of what I expected. I thought we’d spend the whole time carefully constructing a finished drawing, but we did lots of short observational exercises instead. People, objects, hands, bits of furniture, whatever was around me. It was quite liberating actually. I realised I had become obsessed with producing ‘good drawings’ and had forgotten that drawing is also a way of looking.

I took this class because I wanted to get more out of coloured pencils. My previous drawings always looked grainy and flat. We experimented with layering, pressure, complementary colours, burnishing and preserving the white of the paper. I loved how technical the process became while still feeling very expressive. The fact that I could follow the lesson from my own studio was an added bonus

I signed up specifically to learn gouache. I wanted something between drawing and painting, but I had no idea how to deal with the opacity of the medium. We experimented with flat shapes, layering, colour mixing and keeping certain areas deliberately simple. The class was relaxed and very practical. I finished the session with a little landscape that I’m genuinely quite proud of.

Even though drawing is already part of my profession, I wanted to improve my artistic anatomy and use of light.
