About Naima

My name is Naima, and I am a student at Washington University in St. Louis majoring in Public Health and Society with minors in Psychology and Speech and Hearing Sciences on the nursing track. I tutor Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Geometry with a patient, structured, and encouraging approach. I focus on helping students build strong foundational understanding of math concepts rather than memorization, breaking problems into clear, manageable steps and adapting my teaching style to each student’s needs and pace.

I am also currently teaching during the summer to keep my instructional skills sharp in a real classroom setting, which strengthens my ability to explain concepts clearly and support different learning styles. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel confident asking questions, practicing consistently, and improving their skills over time.

I tutor Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Geometry using a patient, step-by-step approach that focuses on building strong foundational understanding rather than memorization. I break down complex problems into smaller, manageable parts and use guided practice, real-world examples, and repetition to reinforce concepts.

A typical lesson starts with reviewing prior material, identifying areas of confusion, and then working through targeted practice problems together before moving into independent work with support. I adjust my teaching style based on each student’s learning pace and needs, ensuring they feel confident before progressing.

What sets me apart is my ability to stay calm, encouraging, and adaptable, creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My lessons are designed for middle school through high school students who need help strengthening their understanding in math and building confidence for exams and class performance.
