About Vitalis

Learning should be engaging, supportive, and tailored to the individual. As an experienced tutor and educator, I am committed to helping learners build confidence, develop independent learning skills, and achieve their academic goals in a positive and encouraging environment.

I provide personalised one-to-one tuition in Functional Skills English and Mathematics, GCSE English, Mathematics, and Science, adapting each lesson to suit the learner's ability, pace, and preferred learning style. Whether a student needs help catching up, preparing for exams, or improving confidence in a particular subject, I create structured lessons that are both challenging and achievable.

My teaching approach is patient, organised, and evidence-based. I use clear explanations, practical examples, retrieval practice, questioning techniques, and regular progress checks to ensure learners understand each topic before moving on. I also incorporate learners' interests wherever possible to make lessons enjoyable, relevant, and motivating.

I have experience supporting students from a wide range of educational backgrounds, including those in mainstream education, community education, alternative provision, home education, and learners with additional needs such as ADHD and autism. I understand that every learner is different and work hard to build positive relationships that encourage confidence, resilience, and a genuine enjoyment of learning.

Professionalism, reliability, and communication are central to my practice. I plan each lesson carefully, monitor progress against clear learning objectives, and provide constructive feedback to both learners and parents or carers where appropriate. My aim is not only to improve academic performance but also to equip learners with the confidence and skills they need to succeed both in education and in everyday life.

If you are looking for a patient, dedicated, and knowledgeable tutor who genuinely cares about helping students reach their full potential, I would be delighted to support your learning journey.

As your tutor, I believe every learner can succeed when teaching is tailored to their individual needs, learning style, and pace. My approach is student-centred, supportive, and practical, creating a positive learning environment where learners feel confident to ask questions, make mistakes, and develop new skills.

My lessons begin with a short assessment or recap to identify prior knowledge before introducing new concepts. I use a range of teaching techniques, including modelling, guided practice, retrieval activities, questioning, real-life examples, visual resources, and scaffolded learning to build understanding and confidence. Lessons are interactive and engaging, with regular opportunities for feedback and short assessments to monitor progress. Where appropriate, I adapt lessons to learners' interests for example, incorporating football, community topics, or everyday scenarios to make learning meaningful and enjoyable.

A typical lesson lasts "60 minutes", although I also offer"90 minutes, and 2-hour sessions" for learners who require more in-depth support, GCSE preparation, or Functional Skills tuition. Each session includes clear learning objectives, guided activities, independent practice, and a review of progress, with personalised resources and optional homework to reinforce learning.

I have extensive experience supporting young people and adults through one-to-one tuition, community education, and alternative provision. I specialise in "Functional Skills English and Mathematics, GCSE English, Mathematics and Science", as well as supporting learners who require additional guidance to build confidence and improve academic outcomes. My teaching experience includes working with students who have additional learning needs, including ADHD, autism, anxiety, and those who have experienced disrupted education. I focus on creating structured, encouraging lessons that enable every learner to make steady progress.

My lessons are suitable for "Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9), Key Stage 4 (Years 10–11), GCSE Foundation learners, Functional Skills Entry Levels 1–3 and Levels 1–2, home-educated students, adult learners, and those returning to education". Whether you are preparing for examinations, improving everyday literacy and numeracy, or simply looking to build confidence, I provide personalised tuition designed to help you achieve your goals.
