About Nikolas
I'm Nikolas, a final-year MEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering student at UCL, on track for a First Class degree after four years on one of the UK's most technically demanding undergraduate programmes. I achieved 7s in Maths AA, Physics, and Economics at IB Higher Level, and A*s in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at IGCSE, qualifications I worked hard for, under Greek teachers and professors whose academic standards went considerably beyond what either curriculum formally demands. That rigorous foundation has stayed with me through university and into professional internships at Transport for London and Jacobs Solutions, and it shapes directly how I approach teaching.
I tutor because I genuinely care about whether students improve, and because I remember clearly what it felt like to face these exams, the pressure, the self-doubt, and the gap between understanding something in class and being able to apply it when it actually matters. I'm direct, patient, and honest with the students I work with, and I take their progress seriously enough to give them real feedback rather than comfortable reassurance that leaves them underprepared when it counts.

I'm a final-year MEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering student at UCL, on track for a First Class degree. I completed the IB Diploma with 7s in Maths AA (Higher Level), Physics (Higher Level), and Economics (Higher Level), and hold A*s in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at IGCSE. I know both curricula from the inside, not just as content, but as systems with their own pressures, mark schemes, and ways of catching students out.
My academic background was shaped by Greek teachers and professors who held their students to a standard that went well beyond what most IB or IGCSE students encounter. That foundation is something I bring into every session, not to make lessons harder than they need to be, but to make sure students build real understanding rather than surface-level familiarity with a topic.
I tutor Maths, Physics, and Economics at IGCSE and IB level, with particular strength at Higher Level. Lessons are typically one hour and are shaped around what the student needs most that week, closing a gap in understanding, building exam technique, or working through something they've been avoiding. I don't follow a rigid script.
I've worked with students who are behind and need to rebuild confidence, and with those who are capable but not yet hitting their potential. I remember what it felt like to sit an IB exam underprepared, or to understand something in class and go blank in a test, and that informs how I teach and how I support students when they're frustrated.
Beyond the content, I give honest guidance on revision strategy, exam technique, and time management across subjects. My engineering degree has sharpened the way I approach problems: precisely, methodically, and with an eye for where mistakes tend to creep in.
More than anything, I want students to leave my sessions with more than a better grade. The habits of clear thinking, disciplined problem-solving, and honest self-assessment that I try to build in every lesson are the same ones that serve students well in university, in professional life, and beyond. Passing an exam matters, but understanding why the answer is right is what stays with you.

I’ve worked with Nikolas as a maths tutor over the past few months. I came to him needing help with core topics and exam preparation.
What stands out is how clearly he explains difficult ideas. He breaks problems into simple steps and checks that I understand before moving on. His lessons are structured, focused, and always adapted to what I need.
One moment that stuck with me was when we worked through a topic I had struggled with for a long time. After one session, it finally made sense, and I was able to solve similar problems on my own.
I’ve gained confidence and improved my results thanks to his teaching. I’d recommend Nikolas to anyone who wants clear guidance and steady progress in maths.
