About Nicholas
I am a current senior industrial engineering major at Georgia Tech and have over 3 years of tutoring and teaching experience in math and physics. I have tutored college-level students in the University System of Georgia, taught college-level physics as a teaching assistant, and taught 9th-grade math at the Lovett School in Atlanta, GA through the Breakthrough Atlanta program. I have had success at all levels but especially enjoy helping younger students develop and grow in school by helping them find interest in seemingly boring topics as they find their knack for learning.

My teaching methods and techniques differ from person to person, as I always cater lesson plans to the individual strengths and learning styles of my students. I've been known to teach with physical objects and foods to more visual learners and also with fun, competitive games to more interactive learners. While although my lesson plans do vary because of this, they do typically consist of the following structure: review, conceptual learning, tangible application, and practice and evaluation. I have found this approach to be extremely successful in helping a student's learning and development as the review section helps a student practice memory retrieval, the conceptual learning section helps a student understand a topic at a foundational level, the tangible application section helps a student see the working outcomes of a topic in practice, and the practice and evaluation section helps gauge where a student is excelling and where further instruction is needed. These sections actively combat the pure memorization of methods while still preparing students for exams and other assignments. I teach k-12 including precalculus and calculus.
