About Kayla

I am a dedicated Mathematics Major at Spelman College, currently pursuing a dual degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in Environmental Studies. My academic journey has been marked by a strong commitment to both mathematics and teaching, underscored by my recent experience as an Accelerated Precalculus Teaching Assistant for a summer bridge program. This program was specifically designed to help incoming college freshmen acclimate to the rigors of college-level coursework, where I played a key role in guiding students through challenging precalculus concepts.

In addition to my teaching assistant role, I also serve as a Math Lab Tutor at Spelman College, where I provide tutorial services across a variety of college-level mathematics courses, including Contemporary Mathematics, Intermediate Algebra, Precalculus, and Calculus. My approach to tutoring is rooted in patience, clarity, and adaptability, ensuring that each student receives the personalized attention they need to succeed.

Choosing me as your tutor means partnering with someone who is not only knowledgeable and experienced but also deeply invested in your success. I am here to support you in building a strong foundation in mathematics, helping you gain the confidence and skills needed to excel.

My lessons are designed to build a solid understanding of mathematical concepts, especially in Precalculus and Calculus 1. I focus on breaking down complex ideas into manageable steps, ensuring you not only grasp the 'how' but also the 'why' behind the math. Whether you’re struggling with specific topics or just looking to reinforce your knowledge, I tailor each session to your unique needs and learning style.

What sets my tutoring apart is my passion for mathematics and my experience as a student myself. I understand the challenges you face because I’ve been there too. My approach is patient and encouraging, aimed at boosting your confidence and helping you achieve your academic goals.

If you’re looking to excel in your math classes and develop a deeper understanding, I’m here to help you every step of the way.
