About Frederick

Hi, I’m Freddie! I’m a language enthusiast who has been studying Japanese and Chinese for the past six years. I love helping people discover Japanese, especially those who are completely new to the language. I teach JLPT N5–N4, which covers beginner-level Japanese, so no previous experience is needed! I aim to make lessons relaxed, friendly, and easy to follow, whether you’re learning your first Japanese phrases or working towards your first JLPT qualification. I also volunteer teaching English to non-English-speaking students at local colleges. I recently travelled through Japan, giving me the chance to practise my Japanese and experience the culture first-hand, and I’m planning to spend my gap year continuing my studies and exploring more of Japan!

About the lesson

Learn Japanese with Confidence!

Want to start learning Japanese but don’t know where to begin?

I offer friendly, relaxed online Japanese lessons for complete beginners, with a focus on working towards JLPT N5 while learning Japanese you can actually use.

I believe the best way to learn is to use Japanese from day one. So every lesson includes speaking, conversations and practical phrases alongside grammar, vocabulary and reading. ️

What we’ll cover:

* JLPT N5 preparation
* Speaking Japanese every lesson
* Hiragana, Katakana & kanji
* Grammar and sentence building
* Fun, interactive activities
* Personalised 1-to-1 online lessons

Whether you’re learning for travel, the JLPT, anime, or just because you love Japanese, I’d love to help you get started!
