About Chi
Hi, I’m Chi! I’m currently studying Civil Engineering at university, so Maths and Physics are subjects I genuinely love and get to use all the time. I’ve always been someone who enjoys figuring out why things work rather than just memorising them, and that’s exactly how I like to teach too.
What makes me particularly passionate about tutoring is that I know what it’s like to struggle. I went from a C to an A* in A-level Physics, so I’ve experienced first-hand the difference that the right explanation, revision techniques and a bit of encouragement can make. I don’t want any student to feel like they’re struggling alone or that they simply “aren’t a Maths or Physics person” as there is nearly always a way to make a concept click.
I’ve also been a Maths mentor at school and have tutored Year 10 and 11 students in both Maths and Physics, which has taught me how important it is to adapt to the individual rather than expecting everyone to learn in exactly the same way. I’m naturally very chatty and friendly, and I want my lessons to be somewhere students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and actually enjoying the process of learning. I also attended a grammar school, which meant I was surrounded by ambitious students and a strong academic environment from an early age.
Outside of academics, I run track and play the violin, so I know how important it is to work hard while still having a life outside of studying! I’ll bring that same balance to tutoring: high standards, lots of encouragement, and a teaching style that is genuinely personal to you.

I want my lessons to feel less like a lesson and more like having someone on your side who really wants you to get it. I’m very talkative and naturally quite interactive, so I love creating a relaxed environment where you can ask questions without feeling judged, even if it’s the fifth time we’ve gone over something!
Sessions can be 30 minutes to an hour, depending on what works best for you. We’ll go through the content together, work through questions and then focus on anything you’ve been struggling with at school. I also use active recall, blurting and interactive slides to keep lessons engaging and make revision more effective.
Whether you’re trying to understand a topic that just isn’t clicking, catch up with your class or prepare for an exam, I’ll tailor each lesson around you and what you actually need. I teach GCSE and A-level Maths and Physics, and my main goal is for you to leave each lesson feeling more confident than when you came in.
I achieved 9s in GCSE Maths and Physics and As in both at A-level, so I know these subjects from both sides of the exam journey. I’ve also tutored Year 10 and 11 students in Maths and Physics, helping them build confidence, so I am well-equipped to teach anyone from Year 9 up to Year 13.
Let’s make Maths & Physics make sense!

I’ve known chi since year 10 and she has always been academic and career driven woman.
She was a top grade student in all her subjects and a highly commendable student councillor.
She often helped other students around her who were struggling with difficult concepts and ensured that other students could see significant improvements in their results.
She uses very practical and hands on learning (a very interactive approach).I studied alongside Chi for two years, and she personally tutored me. I used to really struggle with maths, finishing Year 12 with an E. However, with help from Chi in Year 13, I received an A* in my maths A-level. Her way of tutoring is like no other I've had before. She breaks everything down to make it seem so simple when I thought it never could have been, and explains in a way where I can keep up and not feel overwhelmed, while also changing the way my mind looks at maths and motivating me. I think any type of learner could benefit from Chi's help; she's adaptive and patient. Highly recommend!
I found Chi's tutoring essential for my progression from Year 12 to my A-level maths exams, helping me go from a C to an A. She is a great teacher and is also very understanding and supportive, helping me understand topics I was stuck on for months. I can't recommend her enough!
